The annual high school sporting rivalry got into full swing on Sports Day. All of secondary, pupils and teachers alike, with cheerful glee made their way to the Tsirio Stadium to participate in a number of events. There were 10 events, track (100m, 200m, 300/400m, 800m, 1500m and relay) and field (shotput, javelin, triple jump and long jump) – students had to chose three. Grade 7 was pitched against grade 8; grade 9 against grade 10 and grade 11 against grade 12. Both track and field events ran smoothly, with a few surprises here and there.
The usual relay finale proved to be the highlight as grade 9 were the shock winners.
Competition, team work, determination, loss and victory all proved for a very successful Sport Day 2014.
