As you explore options for your child’s education, we invite you to consider why Logos could be the ideal choice for you. Our student’s academic success speaks for itself, regularly achieving ‘Top in Cyprus’ awards and even global recognition for their outstanding performance in Cambridge examinations, before leaving us after securing places in universities worldwide.

At Logos School, our dedicated and enthusiastic staff are driven by a genuine passion for teaching and nurturing the progress of every student. We strive to create a supportive environment where children not only thrive academically but also emotionally and socially. We are known for our commitment to pastoral care, which is rooted in honesty, empathy, and an understanding of personal challenges. We believe in instilling values of responsibility, respect, and kindness, creating a community where every individual feels valued and supported.

At the core of our ethos lies our Christian values, infusing all aspects of school life. Anchored in a biblical understanding of God’s love and the intrinsic value of each child, we are committed to cultivating an environment where faith, learning and community are seamlessly integrated.

If you are seeking a school where the warmth of a family environment is immediately noticeable, where positive relationships between staff and students abound, and where you can trust in the quality of education and care provided, your search ends here at Logos.

The Admissions Process

Logos School welcomes new students every year from those who are starting their learning journeys in our Pre-school at the age of 4, through to those who join our family to complete their GCSE’s, A-Levels, or gain an Apolytirion at the top end of the school.

For most of our prospective families, the next step after reading through the information on this site is to get in touch.

You can do so by:

  • emailing admissions@logos.ac.cy
  • calling the office on +357 25336061
  • dropping in to the office to speak to our admissions dept.

If you are interested in a place on our waiting list, you will be asked to fill out an ‘Enquiry Form’ – click here to complete this form with details about your family and the students whom you wish to join us.

If you are interested and there is an expectation of places being soon available, an in-person meeting is arranged with the Principal to talk through the application, tour the school and answer any questions you may have. This is often combined with an ‘informal’ interview with the prospective student or students and the Principal as part of the selection process.

Depending on education history, age and strength in English, entrance exams may then be arranged – usually in English and Mathematics. For students wishing to join GCSE/AS classes some additional entrance examinations may be required. Whilst we do take students of all academic levels, a minimum level of English is required (particularly in older classes). For students joining us part-way through their learning journey, we would expect previous school reports to be provided and we may be in contact with a student’s previous school to verify documents and confirm the school transfer.

Places are then offered based on availability and suitability to the school and current class situation. If places are not available at that time, students will be placed on a waiting list and could then be contacted when places do become available. Priority is given to students with siblings already in the school.

To secure a place once offered, a non-refundable registration fee of €450 per student is to be paid to the school office. This fee is included in the total school fees and is deducted from the yearly balance. The registration forms must then be filled in and documents provided before the student becomes enrolled and can attend.

Documents required for registration include:

  • Child’s birth certificate
  • Passports for both parents
  • Most recent school report
  • Proof of address (e.g. utility bill)
  • Custody documents (if both parents are not signing the form)
  • Vaccination status certificate

Admissions into Pre-School

Due to high demand for places at Logos, we operate a waiting list system for entry into our youngest classes. If you are interested in your child attending our school, it does help to get them into our system early by getting in touch and filling in an enquiry form. We will periodically keep in touch to let you know about the progress of your enquiry or place on the waiting list.

If your child is near the top of the list for entry into our first class – you may be invited to join us for an open morning in October, 11 months before starting with us. This is a great opportunity to find out more about our school, for us to meet you and your child and for you meet the teacher and get a feel for the classroom and activities. You may then be invited back for a 1-1 session, and if available offered a place.

To be offered a place in pre-school children must already be able to:

  • Communicate with parents in their native tongue (English is not a requirement before they start)*
  • Use the toilet independently
  • Feed themselves independently

*Prior knowledge of English is not required but some spoken communication in English is advantageous. Our programme includes communication and Phonics in English – learning the alphabet prior to starting with us is of no advantage.

Please continue to browse through our website, follow us on social media (social media links) or get in touch if you have any questions or would like to find out more about our school.

Our Fees

Logos School is a fee-paying private school. As a non-profit organisation, all fees collected account for the running costs and improvements of the school facilities and experience of our students and their families. It is important to us that our fees are straightforward without hidden costs, and families will understand the financial commitment of the school journey, not just the present school year.

In the calculator below, you can not only see personalised fees for this academic year, but also an indicative projection for the future. On registration fees for the remainder of the school phase will be agreed giving you assurance for the following years. New agreements are made at the start of Lower Secondary (Gymnasium) and Upper Secondary (Lyceum).

Please note, fees for each sibling should be calculated individually. This calculator is indicative; fees agreements are made on registration in a mutual contract with the school and parent/guardian. Registration contracts are for the academic school year from September to June.

FAQS

How much English do children need to have before they can join Logos School?

The amount of English required depends on the age of the child and grade of entry. Many students joining us at the start of Pre-School aged four with almost no English. Having some command of English is increasingly helpful as students get older. From upper Primary through to Secondary, students without a strong enough command of English may be refused entry if their oral understanding is insufficient for whole curriculum delivery in English. English as a Second Language (ESL) teaching is available for some students. Previous reports, Interview and Entrance tests are used to establish English proficiency prior to places being offered.

Will my child have to learn Greek?

Greek is compulsory for all students from pre-school through to and including lower secondary. Learning Greek is a great opportunity to become more at home on the island and closer embedded into Cypriot life. The Greek language curriculum is divided into first and second language classes. We are proud to have invested more into teaching Greek over the last few years and seeing an improvement in students performance. First language students can go on to take Pancyprian Examinations if they desire. Second language students are encouraged to take Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) examinations to gain full international recognition for their language learning.

Do you have a school bus?

No. Our students get to school through a range of transport options including: parents cars, local taxi, walking, cycling, local buses.

Unfortunately the school bus facility has not been running for many years due to lack of demand.

Do you offer boarding facilities?

Logos School offered boarding facilities for many years, but the boarding house closed in 2008. Unfortunately since that date we can only offer education to students who are resident with their families in Cyprus.

Which school grade will my child go into?

Cyprus has very strict rules for school placement by age. This does not always follow that of other countries and may in some circumstances mean that students will need to be placed in a class you will not expect. We work very closely with the Ministry of Education of Cyprus to carefully assess each case.

Please note if your child has already been registered in a school in Cyprus, a place will only be offered for the school year following the class already completed. Skipping classes is not possible.

When should I put my child on the waiting list?

If you think you would like your child to come to Logos School, complete the admissions enquiry form on our SchoolBase platform as soon as possible!

We are a single form entry school, so places are limited for every class. This means we almost always have a waiting list for every class. Our Pre-School class is always full, so getting in early is an advantange. We will keep in touch once or twice a year, to ensure anyone who has made an enquiry is still interested in a place in order to keep our records accurate, so please keep an eye out for emails from our admissions team to keep your ‘place’ in the queue.

What can we expect from the Interview?

The interview with Mr Nathan is relatively informal, but does form part of our selection process. Students and parents will be asked about previous education experiences, what they like to do with their time, as well as educational goals and ambitions. During this time it is usually possible to take a tour of the school facilities and discuss what it is like to be a student at Logos School. This process typically lasts for 45 minutes.

How many children are in the school/classes?

We are a small school with approximately 300 students in total. There are usually 20 students in our younger classes, and a maximum of 24 in our older classes, with one class per grade.

What nationalities do you have in the school?

We are truly an international school with students from nearly 40 different nationalities from all over the world. The largest group of students in the school from one nationality is typically 15%.

What qualifications can a student earn at Logos School?

Our Graduates receive the ‘Apolytirion’ of Cyprus, stamped and ratified by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Cyprus. Students also have the opportunity to sit IGCSEs, AS and A-levels. Logos School is a registered centre for the Cambridge International Examinations Board and the Pearson Edexcel Examinations Board.

Do your students go on to university?

Yes. Many of our graduates are currently studying at Universities in the UK, Ireland, Mainland Europe, USA and other parts of the world.

Does Logos School do A-Levels?

Our A-Level programme is subject to demand and availability. Students at Logos School graduate at the end of 12th Grade due to our strong curriculum and high level of registration with the Ministry of Education in Cyprus. The greater majority of our students go to university on the basis of their Apolytirion and AS-Levels. Students who wish to gain the full A-Level may complete the optional Grade 13 class if they have met the academic criteria and classes are available that year.
